La trascendencia en el éxito de "Spider-Man: Brand New Day"

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" es muy buena película. La Vi en Ponce, Puerto Rico, y tomé una foto del cielo ante mis ojos mientras esperaba en fila para comprar el boleto de entrada. 

La película fue dirigida por Destin Daniel Cretton e hicieron un gran trabajo en cada detalle de la realización del filme.

La versión de Spider-Man une detalles de las diferentes encarnaciones del superhéroe (desde la televisión hasta el cine); y honra las bases que dieron de Spider-Nan el favorito de Stan Lee. 

El éxito de "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" confirma que siempre gusta el tema de los superhéroes; en especial cuando se respeta el origen de los personajes. 

Al salir, tomé una foto del cielo ante mis ojos. Afirmemos heroicamente la capacidad de creer, la trascendencia y el valor para hacer realidad sueños y milagros de amor y progreso integral.

The trascendence of the success of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day"

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is a fantastic movie. I saw it in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and took a photo of the sky above me while waiting in line to buy my ticket.

The film was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, and great care went into every detail of its production.

This version of Spider-Man combines elements from the superhero's various incarnations—spanning from television to cinema—while honoring the foundations that made Spider-Man a favorite of Stan Lee.

The success of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" confirms that superhero stories remain popular, especially when the characters' origins are respected.

As I left, I took another photo of the sky. Let us heroically affirm our capacity for belief, our sense of transcendence, and the courage to turn dreams—and miracles of love and holistic progress—into reality.

El mejor inicio de agosto desde Ponce...

 

El sábado 1 de agosto de 2026, hubo un gran inicio de mes en la Iglesia Adventista Ponce V. 

Fueron especiales la Escuela Sabática y la adoración. El segmento de Salud abonó al desarrollo integral y el Rincón Infantil abonó a la educación visionaria.

Cuando comuniqué el informe de la Obra Misionera me basé en Mateo 28:18-20 para afirmar que Jesús va con nosotros, sin saber que el pastor Felix Javier Baez se fundamentaría en el enfoque en Jesús. 

Es la primera vez que ví predicar al pastor Báez en este templo, pero no es la primera vez que lo veía. Siempre que lo veo, recuerdo una vivencia:

Hace un tiempo, cuando coincidíamos en el mismo lugar de trabajo, pero jamás hubiese pensado que llegaría al bautismo Adventista y mucho menos hubiese imaginado que me daría consejos para mi primera prédica, hubo un almuerzo de Acción de Gracias y él daría la oración. 

Poco antes del evento, llegó un carpintero que necesitaba ayuda para enviar su resume en forma electrónica. Fue grato darle la mano, pero me perdí el mensaje del pastor Báez. Al pedirle disculpas, me dijo que estuviera tranquilo, que estaba en donde Dios me necesitaba. Esas palabras resuenan a diario en mí. 

Fue una bendición ver activos en el altar al pastor Báez y su hermano Willie Baez ante sus familias y los hermanos de la fe. Fue una inenarrable bendición también, poder decirle al pastor Báez el impacto positivo de sus palabras que siempre recuerdo.

Eso alienta a ver que toda persona, en la medida que busque hacerse una vida transformada y presidida por el Señor, podrá transmitir palabras que marquen un antes y un después. 

Al ver al pastor Báez y a Willie ante sus familias, y a las demás familias en el templo, recordaba lo que expresé en el informe Misionero de que no todas las historias son iguales. 

* Hay historias que hacen parejas y familias en la misma Iglesia.

* Hay historias que hacen parejas y familias con personas de diferentes origenes, culturas, creencias y países, que son unidas en un cauce de fe y amor.

* Hay historias de personas viudas, divorciadas y en soledad que logran una nueva realidad y consagran una nueva vida. 

Para cada caso en que hay asuntos pendientes, los buenos testimonios de bendición son aliento para afirmar los pasos en la ruta correcta. Adelante ante todo y ante todos porque Jesús va con nosotros.

Happy Birthday to NASA!!!

On July 29, 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the National Aeronautics and Space Act creating NASA. 

The space program is NOT a waste of money; it IS a good, wise, and visionary investment. People from different cultures and backgrounds participate in its development, and as an example, there are Puerto Ricans who shine positively at NASA.

Those who attack the most, arguing that allocating funds to the space program while many die of hunger is wrong, are those who should most bear witness to treating their neighbors well and helping those in need. In various ways, the program serves, such as better studying the planet to protect it, and the universe to broaden horizons (objectively, measures are required to prevent the spread of issues such as pollution and conflict). The fact that there are problems and inequalities that must be corrected does not equate to fostering intellectual limitations and obscurantism.

The space program is a sound investment for growth and transcendence; going further to promote health and unique studies, greater justice, integral progress, and, to the extent of new awareness and broader understanding, a better distribution of wealth and the preservation of our planet's limited resources.

With that perspective, I include photos from 2024 when I had the blessing of seeing the lunar-themed exhibit at the National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution. Reviewing travel photos, family memories, and various life moments is beyond the reach of words. It can unite nostalgia with reasons for gratitude, as well as with the harsh shocks to the conscience.

The first thing you notice about that day is how quickly time passes in a short existence in an imperfect world. The transcendence lies in overcoming feelings of guilt and harmful ideas imposed by colonization more than 500 years ago, such as the cult of poverty and suffering, seeking to make better sense of everything without falling into conformity, and embracing the fact that each new day is a gift and an opportunity to be reborn and remade.

Every time I think of moments I wish I could relive, what could become a tear with the scent of balm, turns into the strength of a new heartbeat; how to be grateful for continuing to live, to look back serenely at the memory of my siblings, to look lovingly at my sister and nephews (including Alex's wife), to strive to grow in the face of various daily challenges, to seek to take new steps of faith, honoring the foundations of my education and a new beginning, and above all, to contempla each new dream to be realized with the vision, imagination, and passion that transcend the boundaries and paradigms of age, culture, and geography.

Mi crónica desde el Morro...

El domingo 19 de julio de 2026 fue una buena aventura ir al Morro con los hermanos de la fe de la Iglesia Adventista Ponce V. 

La Iglesia es pastoreada por el pastor William Javier Salcedo Serrano, quien se unió al disfrute y elevó la chiringas como un campeón. Si mucho se elevaron las chiringas, más alto fue el entusiasmo y la capacidad para soñar con voluntad de realización. 

Si majestuosa es la fortificación que vimos con tanta historia y tan bien conservada, mayor fue mi agradecimiento al vivir esos instantes de ver sano disfrute elevando chiringas y armonía que fue un bálsamo para mí corazón. Así, en mi crónica la historia del Morro queda escrita como antes de Ponce 5 y después de Ponce 5. 

Si impresionantes son las murallas que vimos, mayor es la majestuosidad del Eterno que es origen de todo bien, y la fortaleza en la fe. Hay algo más: 

Cada viaje en la autopista, me recuerda viajes en años anteriores hacia otros destinos y con diferentes propósitos. Atesoro detalles de esos viajes y sobre todo, cuando al salir mi madre me decía con voz única "Dios te bendiga". 

Renovemos la capacidad de bendecir. Regresemos a las bases de buen hogar. Ante soledades, retos y problemas, redescubrimos la presencia de Dios en cada detalle de amor, comprensión y aliento.
