Desde la mirada a la Pascua de Resurrección, hacia la revolucionaria pasión de una nueva vida… / From the look at Easter, towards the revolutionary passion of a new life...

En la celebración de Pascua de Resurrección, comparto fotos que he tomado en Ponce, Puerto Rico. En una vista panorámica, grande es lo que se capta con los ojos; y mayor es lo que supera el alcance de la vista porque está al alcance de la imaginación.

 

Jesucristo es el Señor. Jesucristo venció a la muerte. Jesucristo nos confirma para las almas en los tiempos contemporáneos que las lecciones bíblicas coinciden en que los grandes testimonios rompen moldes y crean nuevos paradigmas. Veamos ejemplos:

 

·         Héroes como Caleb y Job, confirman que los creyentes perseverantes en la naturaleza humana rompen moldes de edad y de todo tipo: No eres demasiado joven para revelaciones transformadoras y no eres demasiado viejo para testimonios renovadores.  

 

·         La pregunta en el relato bíblico de “¿Acaso puede salir algo bueno de Nazaret?”, confirma que la superación enfocada en el Eterno y la gesta fundadora desde el cambio revolucionario en las aguas bautismales, es poder de inspiración constructiva.

·         La comisión en la Biblia de “Por tanto, id, y haced discípulos a todas las naciones”, confirma que los testimonios apoyados por Dios, rompen fronteras geográficas y unen en la cultura que ama, cree y fundamenta en Jesús, la armonía y nuevas realizaciones.

 

Con Jesucristo, es más factible llevar la teoría a la realidad; y llena más al corazón. Es cuestión de creer en el Evangelio como Poder de Dios; poder real y efectivo, guía suprema para todo y no mera sugestión. Con ese nivel de convicción que supera el alcance de las palabras, desde las nuevas decisiones con visión e imaginación, hacer todo nuevo y testimoniar la ruta hacia la Eternidad desde la paz integral en esta tierra. ¡Esa es la Revolución de la Resurrección en el corazón!

In celebration of Easter, I share photos I have taken in Ponce, Puerto Rico. In a panoramic view, what is captured with the eyes is great; and greater is what surpasses the reach of sight because it is within the reach of the imagination.

Jesus Christ is Lord. Jesus Christ defeated death. Jesus Christ confirms for souls in contemporary times that biblical lessons agree that great testimonies break molds and create new paradigms. Let's look at examples:

• Heroes like Caleb and Job confirm that persevering believers in human nature break molds of age and all kinds: You are not too young for transformative revelations and you are not too old for renewing testimonies.

• The question in the biblical story of “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” confirms that the improvement focused on the Eternal and the founding feat from the revolutionary change in the baptismal waters is the power of constructive inspiration.

• The commission in the Bible to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations”, confirms that the testimonies supported by God, break geographical borders and unite in the culture that loves, believes and bases in Jesus, harmony and new realizations.

With Jesus Christ, it is more feasible to bring theory to reality; and fills the heart more. It is a matter of believing in the Gospel as the Power of God; real and effective power, supreme guide for everything and not mere suggestion. With that level of conviction that surpasses the reach of words, from new decisions with vision and imagination, make everything new and witness the route to Eternity from comprehensive peace on this earth.

• “Because I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ; because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes; to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Because in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed by faith and for faith; as it is written: But the righteous will live by faith.” --Romans 1:16-17

En Viernes Santo: Recordar a Rafael Hernández Colón y afirmar que Jesús es primero...

El 2 de mayo de 2019 falleció el líder y maestro Rafael Hernández Colón. El cuerpo físico pasa, pero las ideas grandes y las buenas causas siguen. 

En Viernes Santo, pasa por mi mente la forma en que Rafael Hernández Colón honrada fielmente a la Cuaresma y la Semana Santa. 

Es imposible estudiar y/o identificarse con Hernández Colón sin considerar su prioridad a Dios y el sentido de fe, su valor a la institución familiar, y su plena convicción sobre Luis Muñoz Marín y la fórmula del Estado Libre Asociado. 

Incluso de surgir áreas de debate o crítica a él, mejor es enfatizar en lo positivo y los méritos de las ideas e iniciativas; recordando que fue un ser humano y aplicando la lección de José Martí de que hasta el Sol tiene manchas y no seamos desagradecidos. Sin embargo, hay más:

Hay un personaje bíblico que se llamó Abel. Abel murió, pero las generaciones lo siguen recordando por la forma en que honraba a Dios con sus ofrendas. No se trata de una Lectura para ser manipulada con el fin de sacar lo máximo de cada bolsillo por via de las ofrendas. Se trata de una Lectura para profundizar en el propósito de dedicar a Dios todo lo mejor del ser. 

En ese propósito, la persona muere; pero siguen hablando y edificando a las generaciones, sus buenos pensamientos e ideales, obras y legados. Así es Rafael Hernández Colón. Sus ideas, testimonios y obras siguen hablando con fe, razón y corazón. 

Podría escribir mucho sobre sus lecciones como líder, maestro y gobernante, o sobre su visión correcta y de avanzada en torno al Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico. Sin embargo, en Viernes Santo, la conciencia y el palpitar me mueven a algo más:

Soy un ser humano con virtudes y defectos; reconozco las bendiciones que he recibido, y también los motivos de introspección y autocrítica. Soy nieto de un obrero de la caña e hijo de padres humildes que hoy están en el descanso en paz. 

El que Hernández Colón me diese la oportunidad de hacer tareas para él, confirma que tenía una gran vena de humildad y humanidad. Supo ser comprensivo, solidario ante la enfermedad y muerte de mi madre, maestro paciente y no tuvo aquello de arrogante que le señalaban en campañas negativas en su contra cuando daba nuevos niveles a la candidatura y rol de la Gobernación. 

En Viernes Santo, pienso en la misericordia del Señor y doy gracias. Mirando hacia el porvenir; siento un nuevo y revolucionario palpitar de juventud e ideales por el deseo de comunicar y explicar testimonios inspirado en Hernández Colón y en las etapas formativas que he vivido. Las próximas etapas son propósito y Proyecto de Vida a realizar y consagrar. 

En Viernes Santo, y recordando a Rafael Hernández Colón, es buen momento para afirmar los pasos en el buen camino con visión trascendente.

Cuando el tejido tiene sonido, le habla al alma... / When the crochet has sound, it speaks to the soul...

Una de las obras hechas en tejido por mi madre, Adela Martínez Cruz, es toda una cátedra de arte, vida y fe. El arte del tejido en sí, requiere paciencia y ojo al detalle. 

Buscando información, encontré que el origen del arte del tejido se pierde en la distancia del tiempo; y el arte específico de tejer entrelazando hilos con un ganchillo, surge del término francés “crochet”, que significa “gancho pequeño”.

Cada mirada a esa obra, trae a mi memoria diferentes recuerdos en mis diferentes etapas. Mi madre tuvo arte en sus manos al manejar los hijos y el ganchillo. Mi madre tuvo silencios ensordecedores mientras se esmeraba al tejer. 

Así, cuando el tejido tiene sonido, habla mediante los recuerdos y las lecciones, y sobre todo la motivación para darle arte a la vida. Hay sonido en la obra de arte cuando nos habla. Hay poder cuando eso que nos habla, nos alienta a crear paradigmas. Por eso, los tesoros que conservamos que tocan a generaciones, son aliento a honrar la fe y el amor que tuvieron en nosotros; y glorifican al Creador mediante cada paso creativo, cada testimonio edificante, y cada decisión que hace un Nuevo Comienzo.

En mi madre había arte en su presencia en sí; en su postura al caminar, en cómo se preparaba bien y con sencillez al salir, en su voz dulce, y en sus manos había fuerza y delicadeza. Mi madre está en el descanso en el Señor, pero sus tejidos inspiran de forma particular en cada día y ante la diversidad de vivencias y retos. 

Por ejemplo, hay veces que me pregunto sobre lo que pensaba mi madre mientras entrelazaba esos hilos; y hay veces en que me pregunto sobre la paz y las ideas que desarrollaba en el silencio que era inherente a ese arte, frente a la existencia que es mucho más complicada.  

Muchas son las manifestaciones en las artes. Podemos darle arte a cada tarea que realizamos. Una buena lección de vida es que el producto final nos recuerda que siempre hay soluciones; y el proceso que llevó esa obra de arte, nos recuerda que crecemos al forjar. Adelante con acción de gracias y de sabia perseverancia.

One of the works made in crochet by my mother, Adela Martínez-Cruz, is a whole lesson in art, life and faith. The art of weaving itself requires patience and an eye for detail.

Searching for information, I found that the origin of the art of weaving is lost in the distance of time; and the specific art of knitting by interlacing threads with a crochet hook, arises from the French term “crochet”, which means “small hook”.

Each look at that work brings to my memory different memories in my different stages. My mother had art in her hands when handling children and crocheting. My mother had deafening silences while she worked hard at knitting.

Thus, when the crochet has sound, it speaks through memories and lessons, and above all the motivation to give art to life. There is sound in the work of art when it speaks to us. There is power when what speaks to us encourages us to create paradigms. Therefore, the treasures that we preserve that touch generations are encouragement to honor the faith and love that they had in us; and they glorify the Creator through every creative step, every uplifting testimony, and every decision that makes a New Beginning.

In my mother there was art in her very presence; in his posture when walking, in how he prepared himself well and simply when leaving, in his sweet voice, and in his hands there was strength and delicacy. My mother is resting in the Lord, but her crochets inspire in a particular way every day and in the face of the diversity of experiences and challenges.

For example, there are times when I wonder what my mother was thinking while she was weaving those threads together; and there are times when I wonder about the peace and ideas that developed in the silence that was inherent to that art, in the face of an existence that is much more complicated.

There are many manifestations in the arts. We can give art to every task we do. A good life lesson is that the final product reminds us that there are always solutions; and the process that took that work of art reminds us that we grow by forging. Go forward with thanksgiving and wise perseverance.

Desde Ponce, el "Nuevo Comienzo" deja de ser palabras con revolución natural y espiritual. 

Comparto una vivencia única que jamás contemplé antes. Desde Ponce, Puerto Rico, la Iglesia Adventista Ponce V es sede de un evento diferente de fe, vida y evangelismo con el nombre "Nuevo Comienzo". Sé parte de la nueva historia desde ti. 

Gracias a la joven sabia, líder consagrada y entusiasta Katarina Lockwood, estudiante en Southern Adventist University, por su energía contagiosa y palabras que unen la trascendencia y el mensaje comprensible, sencillo y convincente.

Una nueva dimensión desde Ponce!!! 

El lunes 11 de marzo de 2024 desde Ponce, Puerto Rico, la vivencia en la Iglesia Adventista Ponce V fue una nueva dimensión dentro de la serie titulada "Nuevo Comienzo".

Los cánticos, la armonía en la fe, y la prédica por la joven sabia, líder consagrada y entusiasta Katarina Lockwood, estudiante en Southern Adventist University, crearon una obra maestra hecha desde el cielo. Gracias por la revolucionaria visión de los Mandamientos como fruto del Amor de Dios que protege la libertad; y la guía de Jesús para saber vivir la libertad. Somos más que bendecidos por esta serie.

On Monday, March 11, 2024 from Ponce, Puerto Rico, the experience at the Ponce V Adventist Church was a new dimension within the series titled "New Beginning."

The songs, the harmony of faith, and the preaching by the wise young woman, consecrated leader and enthusiast Katarina Lockwood, a student at Southern Adventist University, created a masterpiece made from heaven. Thank you for the revolutionary vision of the Commandments as a fruit of the Love of God that protects freedom; and the guide of Jesus to know how to live freedom. We are beyond blessed by this series.

We are more than blessed to have the visit of Katarina who came to the Puerto Rican land from a long journey in fulfillment of the Love of the Eternal that does not abandon us.

Restart" desde Ponce a Puerto Rico y el mundo... 

El martes 12 de marzo de 2024 en la Iglesia Adventista Ponce V, en el ambiente único de adoración y armonía, dentro de la serie titulada "Nuevo Comienzo", fue grande la prédica de la sabia y ungida joven Katarina Lockwood, estudiante en Southern Adventist University. Fue clara y convincente sobre la vigencia del Mandamiento del Día de Reposo.

Katarina explicó la gran diferencia que representa vivir y consagrar el sábado como Día de Reposo. Para mí, esta serie es infinitamente más que una buena campaña evangelística; para mi alma y todo mi ser se convirtió en el retiro espiritual y natural que genera un giro de 180 grados. No tengo palabras para agradecer a cabalidad.

Somos más que bendecidos al contar con la visita de Katarina que desde un largo viaje llegó a la tierra puertorriqueña en cumplimiento del Amor del Eterno que no nos abandona.

"Restart" from Ponce to Puerto Rico and the world... 

On Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the Ponce V Adventist Church, in the unique atmosphere of worship and harmony, within the series titled "New Beginning", the preaching of the wise and anointed young Katarina Lockwood, student at Southern Adventist University, was great. She was clear and convincing about the validity of the Sabbath Commandment.

Katarina explained the big difference it makes to live and consecrate Saturday as a Day of Rest. For me, this series is infinitely more than a good evangelistic campaign; For my soul and my entire being it became the spiritual and natural retreat that generates a 180 degree turn. I have no words to fully thank you.

We are more than blessed to have the visit of Katarina who came to the Puerto Rican land from a long journey in fulfillment of the Love of the Eternal that does not abandon us.

El miércoles 13 de marzo de 2024 en la Iglesia Adventista Ponce V hubo una trascendencia al estilo de las reuniones que marcaron el comienzo fundador y heroico de la Iglesia; como parte de la serie titulada "Nuevo Comienzo", fue grande la prédica de la sabia y ungida joven Katarina Lockwood, estudiante en Southern Adventist University.

Katarina explicó el tema del bautismo por inmersión y su trascendencia como signo de nueva vida. Es un real  Restart.

Doy Gracias y Abrazo la fe y convicción de que el Plan Perfecto de Dios dispuso la visita de Katarina con un mensaje a seguir difundiendo; es una nueva dimensión que libera al alma y reconcilia lo que se vive y se cree, con el poder de un nuevo Génesis.

On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Ponce V Adventist Church there was a transcendence in the style of the meetings that marked the founding and heroic beginning of the Church; As part of the series entitled "New Beginning", the preaching of the wise and anointed young Katarina Lockwood, student at Southern Adventist University, was great.

Katarina explained the topic of baptism by immersion and its significance as a sign of new life. It's a real Restart. 

I give thanks and embrace the faith and conviction that God's Perfect Plan arranged Katarina's visit with a message to continue spreading; It is a new dimension that frees the soul and reconciles what is lived and believed, with the power of a new Genesis.

La vida al ver la muerte en forma diferente... La nueva vida al decidir en momentos definitorios...

El viernes 15 de marzo de 2024 en la Iglesia Adventista Ponce V hubo una atencion valiente y serena al tema que mas temor genera desde los inivios de la humanidad: la muerte. Como parte de la serie titulada "Nuevo Comienzo" que se convirtió en mi mayor retiro espiritual y personal, fue grande la prédica de la sabia y ungida joven Katarina Lockwood, estudiante en Southern Adventist University.

Katarina explicó el tema con base bíblica; en la muerte como descanso y la promesa de la resurrección de los muertos en Cristo y que todos seremos cambiados. 

Gracias por confirmar que hay predicas inspiradas por el Espíritu Santo que llegan directamente al alma y la conciencia. Es un hecho que hay diferentes estilos de prédica, pero algo que en verdad presiona para tomar decisiones en momentos definitorios, es la vida misma.

Por ejemplo, está la escena de quienes piensan en lo mucho que hubiesen hecho por la persona fallecida de haber sabido la fecha de su muerte. 

La vida nos recuerdos que el momento para tomar decisiones definitorias es ahora, porque solo el presente nos pertenece. Así, tomé mi decisión sobre el Bautismo por inmersión.

Life by seeing death differently... New life by deciding in defining moments...

On Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Ponce V Adventist Church, there was brave and serene attention to the topic that generates the most fear since the beginning of humanity: death. As part of the series entitled "New Beginning" that became my greatest spiritual and personal retreat, the preaching of the wise and anointed young Katarina Lockwood, a student at Southern Adventist University, was great.

Katarina explained the topic with a biblical basis; in death as rest and the promise of the resurrection of the dead in Christ and that we will all be changed.

Thank you for confirming that there are preachings inspired by the Holy Spirit that reach directly to the soul and conscience. It is a fact that there are different styles of preaching, but something that really pressures us to make decisions in defining moments is life itself.

For example, there is the scene of those who think about how much they would have done for the deceased person if they had known the date of their death.

Life reminds us that the time to make defining decisions is now, because only the present belongs to us. Thus, I made my decision about Baptism by immersion.

Renacer desde el Bautismo... Comenzar de nuevo desde el corazón heroico y consagrado...

El viernes 16 de marzo de 2024 en la Iglesia Adventista Ponce V culminó la serie titulada "Nuevo Comienzo"; que en realidad no fue un final, sino un principio. 

Fue especial y significativo, este cierre que iluminó umbrales, con la prédica de la sabia y ungida joven Katarina Lockwood, estudiante en Southern Adventist University.

Katarina le dio sentido real y poderoso a la expresión de "nuevo comienzo", con la base en decidir seguir a Jesús y los Mandamientos, y creer. 

Fue todo un escenario creado por Dios para mi Bautismo por inmersión. Gracias a Katarina, pastores y creyentes, Presidente de la Asociación Puertorriqueña Adventista del Sur, Víctor Otaño y esposa, mensajes de saludo y el nuevo comienzo para la casa de fe en Ponce V. 

Reconozco y agradezco el proceso que fue tocando a las puertas de mi corazón y entendimiento. La actividad de clausura en la Iglesia Ponce IV, enmarcada en el Dia Mundial de la Juventud Adventista, tuvo magia y unión. 

Gracias a mi entera formación en la fe desde la base familiar, que hoy alcanza un nuevo nivel y me ubica, con esperanzas y sueños a realizar y consagrar, frente a lo desconocido. 

La oportunidad de renacer en las aguas bautismales y de comenzar de nuevo desde cada luminosa decisión, tiene la esencia de un nuevo Génesis. Al ver que lo que nunca se ha logrado requiere hacer lo que nunca se ha realizado, que cada nuevo testimonio glorifique al Creador y dé luz al mundo.

Reborn from Baptism... Begin again from the heroic and consecrated heart...

On Friday, March 16, 2024 at the Ponce V Adventist Church, the series titled "New Beginning" culminated; which in reality was not an end, but a beginning.

It was special and significant, this closing that illuminated thresholds, with the preaching of the wise and anointed young Katarina Lockwood, student at Southern Adventist University.

Katarina gave real and powerful meaning to the expression "new beginning", based on deciding to follow Jesus and the Commandments, and believe.

It was quite a scenario created by God for my Baptism by immersion. Thanks to Katarina, pastors and believers, President of the Southern Puerto Rican Adventist Association, Víctor Otaño and wife, greeting messages and the new beginning for the house of faith in Ponce V.

I recognize and appreciate the process that was knocking on the doors of my heart and understanding. The closing activity at the Ponce IV Church, framed in World Adventist Youth Day, had magic and unity.

Thanks to my entire formation in faith from the family base, which today reaches a new level and places me, with hopes and dreams to realize and consecrate, in the face of the unknown.

The opportunity to be reborn in the baptismal waters and to start anew from each luminous decision has the essence of a new Genesis. Seeing that what has never been achieved requires doing what has never been done, may each new testimony glorify the Creator and give light to the world.
