La vigencia y la trascendencia de "Bolero" / The Enduring Relevance and Trascendence of "Bolero"

La película Bolero de 1984 protagonizada por Bo Derek es controversial por ciertas escenas. Parte de su diálogo incluye:

* Lida MacGillivery (Bo Derek): "... ¿Soy demasiado codiciosa?"

* Ángel: "Debes ser codiciosa. La cama es un lugar egoísta. En ella solemos dar solo para poder recibir" (You must be greedy. The bed is a selfish place. In it, we seem to give only so that we may receive). 

Considero que en esas palabras está lo más importante. Armoniza con el contenido bíblico de la Ley de Siembra y Cosecha. 

Coincide también con el contenido humano y trascendente, lógico y bíblico de que el placer no es malo y es parte del diseño divino (está en Cantares); y que la belleza y la sensualidad son pecado, son tan de Dios como la verdad y las virtudes. 

Incluye también que hay un egoísmo positivo y uno negativo. En el egoísmo negativo, la persona solo busca su bien. En el egoísmo positivo, la persona busca estar bien para dar más a quien ama y a los demás. Así, es bueno realizar el propósito de trazar la ruta hacia la Eternidad desde los milagros de amor, la salud integral, la vida en abundancia, la pasión con dirección y la prosperidad para bendecir, la felicidad y la plenitud en esta tierra.

The 1984 film Bolero, starring Bo Derek, is controversial due to certain scenes. Part of its dialogue includes:

* Iida MacGillivery (Bo Derek): "...Am I too greedy?"

* Angel: "You must be greedy. The bed is a selfish place. In it, we seem to give only so that we may receive."

I believe the most important point is contained in these words. They harmonize with the biblical content of the Law of Sowing and Reaping.

They also coincide with the human and transcendent, logical and biblical understanding that pleasure is not evil and is part of the divine design (it is found in the Song of Solomon); and that beauty and sensuality, while sinful, are as much from God as truth and virtue.

It also includes the idea that there is positive and negative selfishness. In negative selfishness, the person only seeks their own good. In positive selfishness, a person seeks well-being in order to give more to loved ones and others. Thus, it is good to pursue the purpose of charting the course toward Eternity through miracles of love, holistic health, abundant life, purposeful passion, and prosperity to bless, happiness, and fulfillment on this earth.
