 El Día de los Presidentes desde Puerto Rico

En el 2024 tuve la oportunidad de caminar en Washington DC. Gracias a mi hermana Wallis L. Berríos Martínez por su presencia y por las bendicones en ese viaje. No fue la primera vez.

El Día de los Presidentes honra el natalicio de George Washington, y reconoce el servicio de quienes han ocupado y ocupan esa responsabilidad de liderazgo. Desde Puerto Rico, el tema presidencial se une al tema del status político.

Por ejemplo, hay quienes ven que el desarrollo del Estado Libre Asociado puede incluir el voto presidencial; hay quienes ven que ese voto y el voto por congresistas se asegura con la Estadidad; y hay quienes creen en ese voto, pero por el presidente de la república de Puerto Rico.

La realidad es que en la ruta de Washington DC, Virginia y otros destinos estadounidenses, el tema no es Puerto Rico. Las personas se enfocan en los museos, los atractivos turísticos y sobre todo, los temas cotidianos de su calidad de vida. Cada país debería enfocar la mirada en esa forma para que la prioridad sea el progreso real y no una teoría.

El progreso real combina la creación de empleos, desarrollo socioeconómico, fortalecimiento de lo patrio con visión multicultural, y lograr políticas efectivas en las prioridades de educación y artes, salud y seguridad.

El Día de los Presidentes nos recuerda la importancia del rol mundial de Estados Unidos (combina la política doméstica, la política internacional y el juego de ajedrez de los diversos intereses de la geopítica). También nos recuerda la lección a cada país de promover desde las altas responsabilidades de gobierno y dirección, la inspiración para que cada hogar sea como una peueña patria que aporta al bien común, y la dirección de buen gobierno y unidad de pueblo con fe que une la diversidad de creencias ante el Señor de la Historia.

El ejemplar desempeño de la responsabilidad Presidencial visto en forma única por cada conciencia, puede mover a muchos a tomar inspiración y lecciones sobre la capacidad de luchar y vencer, y para asumir sabia y victoriosamente el liderazgo de tu propio destino:

Es tu vida: ¡Lucha por ella; abraza los sueños a realizar, el propósito de la vida en abundancia para ser canal de bendición y ser parte de las soluciones, y los motivos para seguir adelante!

Es tu vida: ¡Lucha por ella; no te dejes manipular por el conformismo y no aguardes por el cambio, sé el cambio!

Es tu vida: ¡Lucha por ella; porque en un mundo imperfecto hay retos, incomprensiones y oposiciones, es porque al buscar dedicar la realización al Eterno, eres el milagro que necesita el mundo para volver a creer!

Presidents' Day from Puerto Rico

Presidents' Day honors the birth of George Washington and recognizes the service of those who have held and continue to hold that leadership responsibility. In Puerto Rico, the presidential issue is intertwined with the issue of political status.

For example, some believe that the development of the Commonwealth could include the presidential vote; some believe that this vote, along with the vote for members of Congress, is secured with statehood; and some believe in that vote, but for the president of the Republic of Puerto Rico.

The reality is that on the route from Washington D.C., Virginia, and other U.S. destinations, Puerto Rico isn't the main topic of conversation. People focus on museums, tourist attractions, and above all, the everyday aspects of their quality of life. Every country should adopt this approach so that real progress, not just theory, becomes the priority.

Real progress combines job creation, socioeconomic development, strengthening national identity with a multicultural vision, and implementing effective policies in the priorities of education and the arts, health, and security.

Presidents' Day reminds us of the importance of the United States' global role (combining domestic politics, international politics, and the complex interplay of diverse global interests). It also reminds us of the lesson for every country to promote, from the highest levels of government and leadership, the inspiration for each home to be like a small homeland that contributes to the common good, and the guidance of good governance and national unity with faith that unites the diversity of beliefs before the Lord of History.

The exemplary performance of Presidential responsibility, viewed uniquely by each individual, can inspire many to learn lessons about the ability to fight and win, and to wisely and victoriously assume leadership of their own destiny:

It's your life: Fight for it; embrace the dreams to be realized, the purpose of living in abundance to be a channel of blessing and part of the solutions, and the reasons to keep going!

It's your life: Fight for it; don't let yourself be manipulated by conformity and don't wait for change, be the change!

It's your life: Fight for it; because in an imperfect world there are challenges, misunderstandings, and opposition. It's because by seeking to dedicate fulfillment to the Eternal, you are the miracle the world needs to believe again!
