240 años de una travesía hacia una nueva dimensión artística e histórica
El 17 de octubre de 1785 (hace 240 años!!!), el escultor Jean Antoine Houdon y sus ayudantes salieron desde Mount Vernon hacia Francia. En ese destino le dieron forma y realidad a la estatua de mármol de cuerpo entero de George Washington. Con medidas exacta presenta a Washington como ninguna otra.
En el movimiendo de transición del líder desde la responsabilidad oficial hacia lo cotidiano, nos recuerda también lo mucho que significó su casa en George Washington's Mount Vernon. En Mount Vernon, uno de los más especiales detalles es poder sentarse ante el escenaroo del río Potomac; un escenario que pude ver gracias al Eterno y a mi hermana. En Mount Vernon hay una réplica de la memorable estatua que le habla a las generaciones.
Esa transición de George Washington me recuerda a Rafael Hernández Colón luego del “retiro” de las responsabilidades oficiales en su casa en la Calle Sol #9 en Ponce, Puerto Rico. Para las grandes almas no hay retiro, sino etapas de evolución y nuevos talleres creativos en una interminable ruta de trascendencia.
La estatua sigue en el mismo lugar donde se colocó originalmente en 1796: la rotonda del Capitolio en Richmond, Virginia. En cada país y lugar del mundo cada cual en su vocación y realidad, tiene el llamado a dar testimonio de realizaciones con fe, amor y visión. Sigamos creyendo y perseverando.

240 Years of a Journey Toward a New Artistic and Historical Dimension
On October 17, 1785 (240 years ago!!!), sculptor Jean Antoine Houdon and his assistants set sail from Mount Vernon for France. There, they gave shape and life to the full-length marble statue of George Washington. With precise measurements, it presents Washington like no other.
In the leader's transition from official responsibility to everyday life, he also reminds us of how much his home at Mount Vernon meant to him. At Mount Vernon, one of the most special details is being able to sit before the Potomac River; a setting I was able to see thanks to the Eternal One and my sister. At Mount Vernon there is a replica of the memorable statue that speaks to generations
George Washington's transition reminds me of Rafael Hernández-Colón after his "retirement" from official responsibilities in his home at 9 Sol Street in Ponce, Puerto Rico. For great souls, there are no retirement, but rather stages of evolution and new creative workshops on an endless path of transcendence.
The statue remains in the same place where it was originally placed in 1796: the Capitol rotunda in Richmond, Virginia. In every country and place in the world, each person, in their own vocation and reality, is called to bear witness to accomplishments with faith, love, and vision. Let us continue to believe and persevere.
